Hey guys, i was given a shotgun from my grandfather, but its in his name, just curious, how i go about transfering it to my name, i live in colorado, thanks guys.
I'm not sure what you mean by "in his name". If a firearm is given or sold between individuals there is no "transfer of title" unless you live in a state that requires a firearms ownership card/certficate - and that is up to the laws of your state. Any federal registrations are done only during a commercial transaction [dealer, gunsmith, retail store] - not private. Hope this answers your question.
The guys above are right. There is no gun registration in Colorado, except 4473's. It was probably never "in his name", nor does it have to be "transferred to you".
