I put a Williams receiver sight designed for a grooved receiver on my 9422 Win lever .22 and a Lyman 17A globe front sight. While I was at it, I removed the stock sight and put in a nice press fit filler block.
Now everyone who sees it covets it.
Everyone who SHOOTS it wants to buy it or steal it.
I suppose you could also use a Marlin 39 as they both have a nice classic look.
The neat part is that when you put your teensy target in that globe front aperture........it is HIT.
I have been reading about the amazing grouping that 9422 barrels seem to do and it must be true. There is nothing small enough to miss.
I also found out that doing a trigger job on it is dead simple and makes a world of difference just putting the right angle on the trigger with a fine stone.
Kind of a "mini-Quigley."
