How to get an absentee ballot

Did this for MANY years, while a Naval officer serving away from my "home of record". Your local Boards of Elections has the appropriate form. Be advised, however, that each state has its own laws re who qualifies for an absentee ballot. In all jurisdictions (I suspect) service members, the homebound ill/elderly, students away at college qualify. In some jurisdictions, however, one cannot get an absentee ballot simply for reasons of convenience.

My county automatically mails ballots to people living out in farm country. It just wasn't cost effective to maintain polling places out in the "sticks." We have the option of mailing it in, delivering it to the polls on election day, or delivering it to the county elections clerk before the polls close.
