Folks. thank god for a little sunshine here in Western Mass...
Anyway, I'd love to find some people selling handguns used in Mass, where do you recommend looking? thanks, pete

Four Seasons in Woburn has a used gun page they update everyday, keep in mind that many of the guns are consignment guns with the prices set by individual sellers, so if something seems overly expensive that is most likely the case. http://fsguns.com/used/

You can also pay a fee to become a member at www.northeastshooters.com and you will be able to use the classifieds section over there to do face to face sales. You can find some pretty good deals on there.

If you're a facebook person there's dozen of BST groups in your area guaranteed. I'm a member of 37 gun groups only, and probably 25 other interests groups. Keeps me busy looking over all the posts at all times of the day and night.

Not sure if you'll be able to view the page without registering or not.
Yes, you can. I dig through the ads there regularly, and I don't think I've ever registered. I know I don't log in to view them.

Thanks, Folks!, now after looking a bit, the selection here in the Berkshires is very slim pickings, so I guess I'll end up with an inexpensive MP or Ruger that I've seen in one of our two gun shops, both very small stores and one only opened Sat morn and Thurs evenings. Nice stores, but you see the situation, and I guess traipsing around Mass with a pocket full of cash is not in the cards. Maybe at some point down the road I'll run into people that might want to sell an XDM or their compact, etc. Thanks again for the feedback. I asked similar questions on the Northeast shooters forum and got flamed pretty good.... thanks, pete

There is a classified add page similar to Craigslist called backpage. Here in Nevada a lot of guns are sold in the sporting section. here is a list of their Mass cities. www.backpage.com then go to the right and choose your state and city.
boston, ma
cape cod, ma
south coast, ma
springfield, ma
worcester, ma

Pedro45,

Here are a few places to check out-

Pats Gun Shop in Lanesborough

Avid Sports in Pittsfield

Daves Sporting Goods in Pittsfield

Petes Gun Shop in Adams

Also there is store in Dalton and one in Housatonic. (the names escape me right now)

Also check out The Lost Target in Pownal/Bennington VT.

A quick google search should provide you addresses and phone #s.

I have my opinions on which stores are better, but I will leave that alone as they all serve a purpose.

Are you new to the Berkshires, new to the shooting sports, or both?

Hi, thanks, yes, I've been to Dave and Aberdales in Housatonic, but they're open two day, and only for a few hours, though the store really is darn nice withy a decent selection, so thanks for the other places mentioned. I did finally buy my first gun, a Mossberg 500 tactical that has an extension for 8 shells. I'll be heading out further afield, you folks might not realize there is NO place/range in the Berkshires where I live where they rent guns to try out, so for my first handguns I'll be heading your folks' way. One weekend even going to Mas Firearms school to really try them and take their Utah LTC license class that's good in over 30 states, so again, thanks a lot, pete

I asked similar questions on the Northeast shooters forum and got flamed pretty good....

Haha yeah that can happen. There is a reason us Massachusetts folks are called M***holes, the closer you get to the city you find people can be a little rough around the edges, and sarcasm flows in our blood.
