***How to find a good lawyer / CYA***

A friend in the North Texas area called this morning after an incident last night. He has a CHL and was at the right / wrong place at the wrong / right time last night, and helped impede a serious crime. He was not arrested, but the two who went to jail both made statements on what he may have done with his gun that could be an issue. Another witness may have made a similar report. (I WAS NOT THERE: You're getting this third hand, and I'm just trying to help him find a GOOD lawyer to at least talk to, while not doing him any disservices with quotes or details I don't know for sure.) My apologies if that's a problem.

So if *you* legal eagles or others with experience who potentially needed a criminal defense lawyer, how would you go about finding one?

The time to consider what you will do after a self-defense incident, is before a self-defense incident.

You may be able to find a lawyer by asking your local law enforcement officers for the name of the lawyer who represents them when they have use of force incidents.
