How to Field Strip a Baby Browning .25 ACP?

First make sure the gun is unloaded.

Then push the slide back until it is just forward of the frame front. You should be able to twist the barrel with your fingers (clockwise if you are looking down the muzzle) so the locking lugs on the bottom of the barrel rotate out of the locking channels on the frame.

Once the lugs are free of the channels, the slide and barrel will come forward. You can then drop the barrel out of the slide.

The actual relation of the slide to the frame at the moment that you can twist the barrel varies from model to model, just move the slide back and forth slightly until the barrel will twist. The Browing M1906 patten pistols (sold under many brand names) usually have a witness mark on the slide that aligns with the frame front. The "Browning Baby" is a later development of the M1906 pattern and is slightly different, altho you often hear people referring to M1906 pistols as "Baby".

As Strayhorn says, definately make sure it is unloaded (mag and chamber). Then pull back the slide about halfway. Where I'll add my 2 cents is that once the slide is pulled back halfway, engage the safety. That puts it in exactly the right position to twist the barrel so you can pull off the slide. Once the barrel is twisted, you can release the safety and the slide and barrel pop right off. The rest is pretty simple. Good luck.
