Hello !!!

After hearing about the feeding/reliability problems of BDL-DM and actually experiencing it first hand, I would like to convert my DM rifle to fixed magazine.

How does one go about doing this?

TIA

Never heard of this before I was considering convering my fixed to detachable, Maybe the conversion that uses 20 rd M-14 mags would be the way to go. Then 30-06 and 300 wouldnt work. Are you sure it wasnt the ammo? Sorry i wasnt much help.

I was using 147 or 150 gr FMJ surplus ammo. I cycle the action and the bullet tip seems to catch on something. Very frustrating :(

Tried this - does not work. The feed rails are ground down on the 700 DM guns. The magazine then provides the rails.

Pull your DM apart and compare it to a non-DM. Remington may have changed - but I don't think so.

There does seem to be a problem. I was very seriously considering a DM Rem 700 Mountain rifle but another, previous, thread contained so many bad experiences that I decided to wait and go with a box magazine. I have read, too, that Remington has publicly admitted that there are design flaws with their DM rifles. You are evidently lucky, Noban.
