How To Convert A Saiga Rifle

Wish I had known that trick about the dental floss. Installing the BHO alone took me about an hour, probably the worst part of the whole process.

Did I miss something or did the bullet guide install get left out? No mention of grinding down the mag catch to accept standard AK magazines?
 
in NYS it is illegal to use high cap mags that are not pre ban. I left it out for that reason.

Sorry, its just that it would be walking a fine line ya know

You're welcome, it was actually much more work to take the pictures along the way than I thought it would be. I think it payed off though. From what I have seen I believe I have the most detailed saiga conversion tutorial online.

It is similar for the Saiga-12

This trigger guard came with the pistol grip nut attached to it.

It is a more solid design and if you had it in front of you, you would see how simple it is to install.
 
Man. You REALLY READ that article, haha. That screw came with a washer that that I forgot to put in during that picture. I recommend you use the washer it came with. sorry about that.
 
Danzig Arms sells everything you need and offers instruction.

You should be aware that all Saigas in 7.62x39 since circa 2005 include a modified chamber with an 'enlarged neck area' which in my experience adversely affects accuracy and brass life. I decided not to convert one for this reason. Other chamberings do not include this 'feature.'
