I encourage all of you to send polite, well-written, and honest letters to S&W on how you feel about their recent agreement with the government. Being rude, hostile, or vulgar will not help our cause! Written letters often seem to be more highly regarded in these matters, so I encourage you to send out a letter via mail to them also.

My letter will explain to them that I had planned to purchase a S&W model 686 next week, but will instead purchase a Ruger KGP-161 pistol. Let them know why you are unhappy and explain what steps you plan to take to not purchase their product and to help others to also not purchase their products.

This is strange. You won't buy a S&W because they caved in yet you will buy a Ruger, the owner of said company having contributed to the 1994 Crime Bill. Does anyone see the problem here? I don't buy Rugers and I don't buy Smiths because I can't stand either companies' politics.

As there are many, many threads ongoing on the S&W situation in both the General Discussion and Legal and Political forums where they should be, I'll lock this one here.
