I have a Springfield Armory 1911 RO.
It has adj sites.
On the right side of site, the screw has an arrow and says "left".
If I turn screw left is that moving my shot to the left???

That makes sense but I don't know. Yes,I could go to the range and figure it out, but now, I am asking my brothers (and sisters) in arms.

Thanks for taking the time.

Yup.
Move the rear sight in the direction you want the point of impact to appear to move. Left on the sight means left on the target.

Jim Watson has nailed it: move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet hole to move. If you have an adjustable front sight, (not very common any more,) move it in the opposite direction you want the bullet hole to move.

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. When it comes to shooting questions, almost all of us remember when we were newbies, too. These many years later, I can still vividly remember being surprised people who spent lots of time and effort shooting lethal weapons turned out to be the most generous, gregarious people I'd ever met.
