A few weeks ago I ordered some ammunition from Proload. This was not the first time, and it won't be the last either. What made this time special was that an error was made. I wanted 230 gr .45 JHP ammo and 180 gr. 10mm JHP. I got 10mm and .45, but the .45 turned out to be Long Colt and not the auto I had been hoping for.
Turning to my computer as I often do in times of crisis, I dashed off a quick e-mail to Proload explaining the problem. I wrote them on Saturday, today I recieved a reply.
I was at work, minding my own business when my cell phone rang. It was John from Proload. To be entirely accurate, it was John, the guy who owns Proload.
It turns out that the error had been mine, I had specified .45 Colt rather than .45 auto. But John was going to send me that .45 auto anyway. When I asked if there were any special instructions to ship .45 Colt back to him, he told me to give it to a friend who could use it.
It was then, when I asked his name again to thank him that it came out that he was the owner of the company. John explained that he was the one answering my e-mail because no one else was there. Today was John's 30th wedding aniversary and he had given everyone the day off to celebrate.
John then proceeded to tell me all about the new 135 gr. 1450 fps 10mm they had developed for the G-29.
To reiterate for all of you who skip to the bottom.
1. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong ammo.
2. The owner of the company called me.
3. On his aniversary.
4. To tell me they would be shipping a new box of ammo to me for free.
5. And then spent ten minutes telling me about their new super hot 10mm round.
I tip my hat to John.
