My Weaver K4 scope has a steel body and bears the following markings;
WEAVER K4
PATENTED L S (S is in a diamond)
EL PASO TEX. USA
I noticed that my scope does not bear a sub-model number. Can any of you guys give me a "guess-timate" as to when this scope may have been made? Thanks for the info'! Tom

I don't know the manufacture date of your scope but if it is in good condition it is a quality scope. I read a story in the American Rifleman about the rifles of Finn Aagaard and the pictures showed that most of them had Weaver "K" scopes on them. He was a famous big game hunter and writer and could have had any scope he wanted and used Weaver K scopes. I think he figured they were good enough. It's too bad the El Paso shop that repaired them has closed.
