Hello, I am new to the group. I am a disabled shooter (targets) and enjoy shooting my modified weapons. However a friend brought me up a Darkin model 144 sxs 10ga shotgun. the ser no is PG.12482 and we know it was made in Spain but would like to know how to find out how old it is. Anyone know, or know how to find out.
I have been out of shooting since my spinalcord injury in 1974. I started again last spring with a Tikka .223 with bite trigger using a rest mounted to wheelchair and then set up a Walther sp22m1 pistol. pics and videos on my web site www.notn.org. any help on the Darkin would be appreciated.
thank you
Neal

Nice web site. My first bike was a Suzuki 50 about the same vintage as your Honda. I kmnow nada about a Darkin or a Dakin, but came across this:

Darkin gun company san fran, california,,a 12 and 20 guage box lock double barrel shotgun, with a 26 or 28" barrels, various chokes, extractors and double triggers, engraved, blued, with a checkered walnut stock, manufactured in the 1960,s, unless the gun has been customed, 24 " barrel, I am guessin it is not from Dakin!im goin to look some more!

There appears to be a Dakin Gun Co of San Francisco and I wonder if that is what you have. http://rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/53/lid/3453

darkin 144

Thanks for the info guys, I will look at the barrel / breach closer when it gets back. Yes Johnbt, it does look a lot like the Dakin on that page. I am sure it said darkin tho. He took it with him to show a gunsmith. it has some very nice iinlays and nicegrain in the stock and a lot of fancy markings. I sure appreciate the help.
thanks..Neal
