I was bidding on a S&W model 10 today that was in real good condition. It was a six day auction and ther was a "Buy It Now" price of $450 and at less than 10 minutes to go I was the high bidder at $325. I check on it a few minutes later and the auction was over. Someone used the BIN when the auction was in its last couple of minutes. Now, I don't believe for a minute that someone had missed this auction and found it just in the nick of time to cover that $125 spread over my high bid. It wasn't that nice.

So, do you think people use shills a lot on GB?

Well, what I was thinking is the guy knew it wasn't going to go for more than $325, so, he had someone use the BIN to ensure he wouldn't have to sell it for $325. I guess that may not be the definition of a shill, but it definately seems fishy to me. I would think a real buyer would maybe bid $375 or something like that to try and get it as cheaply as possible.
