Inspired by a comment from someone who said something about practicing once a month. I was on a twice a month schedule but recently switched to every 3 weeks. Mostly due to cost because I have to pay range fees for myself and my older son. I wanted a compromise and feel like only once a month is not often enough.

So how often do you go?

Note: This excludes hunting trips or shooting events. The question is - HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE?

every Thursday, firing 160 to 300 rounds each session with one or two AR-15 style rifles/carbines with barrel twists of 1-7, 1-9, every shooting session i am testing different loads using 3 different primers, 5 different powders, 6 different bullets, there fore you can easily see hundreds of combinations.., i have yet to find that elusive one hole group..., or even a .250" group.., a shooting buddy asked if i got that one hole group yet, i told him, "no.., but they all come out one hole".., i got many  :p ;) and :D

Since Oklahoma changed the law,,,

Since Oklahoma changed the law about University parking lots,,,
And I can now keep my handgun locked in my car,,,
I was going after work 2-3 evenings/week.

Then it got HOT!

Now I get up real early on Saturday or Sunday morning,,,
Try to hit the range by 8:00 AM at the latest,,,
That gives me 2 hours before it's too hot.

As soon as the high drop below 100 degrees,,,
I'll start going after work again.

While I have two places to shoot on our place, I still shoot once a week.

There is always a lot of work to do which comes before play. And ammunition costs money.

Once a week is enough to remain decent.

I voted for once a week. Similar to Aarond, I was going multiple times a week until the heat rolled in. But I also have the benefit of BLM land access 15 min from my house.:D

I get a fair amount accomplished on the range during the fall, winter, and spring months. I might sneak another trip the first/second weekend of June. After that its between 95-100+ degrees. Too hot for me.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to compete at least twice weekly in the Steel and USPSA shoots then there is practice with everything. Dart once a week with the compound bow too. Does that count? :D

Generally I go once a week, but I also have a yearly pass to my local indoor range and I reload so that helps my rationalizing going weekly and spending a good number of hours blasting away.

I try to go at least once a week, but sometimes that doesn't work out. Sometimes twice a week, sometimes once in three weeks.

I was the RO every Thursday for 3 years. Then life changed (layoff, job search, new job, long commute)

Some years I only go twice. :-(

I get to the range about once every three weeks or so ... my range doesn't open until 10a, and here in the summer it's already in the mid-80s ... after an hour or so, it's in the 90s ... summer practice does get cut back some; I often substitute dry fire when I just can't face the temps ...

Between April and November I try to shoot Monday thru Friday ... usually end up with 4 out of 5. I usually shoot one or two rifles , 50 or 100 rounds ... sometimes pistols too. I'm an "over 65" at the club I belong to so I'm "paid up" and the range is only about 2 miles from home ... and my wife loves brass ratting. LIFE IS GOOD!:D

I try to make it out every week when I can. Occasionally the stars won't align and I'll have to end up skipping a week, but I'd feel confident saying that I get range time in at least 3 weeks out of the month.

If I had a higher ammo budget and some private land to shoot on (there's a free public range within 10 minutes of my house but being free its often so crowded that I'd rather drive 45+ minutes to a pay range) then I'd probably shoot at least 2-3 times per week.

When I shot matches, I traveled to different ranges 4 times/month. I had to quit the matches after 7+ years so I just went to the local club about once every two weeks.

Hurricane IKE hit my place dead center so I packed all of the reloading gear away. This summer, I've been setting up my reloading bench and got another Progressive (Dillon RL550) to go with the older RL450 and Rock Chucker. That has totally consumed my time so it's been a while since I've been to the range. That should change within the next month and I'll have plenty of ammo.

I shoot about 5 days a week in the yard. Since the heat I usually just step out on the porch for 10 minutes are so then go in and alittle later do the same are wait till next day.

I wish I could shoot from my house. One day I will find a place with the right balance of out of town, but close enough to already be wired for cable so I can have my high speed internet.

Or I'll just win the lotto and pay to run the cable lines myself! :D

We actually got high speed around a year and a half. Sounds like the range fees are a killer. O well sometimes you just have to bite the bullet so to speak.
