How much would an old and seriously worn /ugly ACOG be worth?

Hey all,

Someone is selling a few well well used Aimpoints. They look like they were already veterans of rifles and wars before Afghhanistan. AND THEN they fought the insurgency in Iraq. But I figured why not due diligently ask. Turns out he also has at least one ACOG. Looks like the 4x32 NSN model w/o fiber optic but it's Ugly USED BAD dirty and possibly rusty ? I mean it's outside looks in ruins. But the pic of the reticle he showed me looked fine. Clear glass with that exaggerated black crosshairs type reticle.

Would This be worth an attempt ? Too old or too ugly ? Insides last at all?

Ok thx

Oh and why did they do this 4x32 w/o FO / light pipes , wouldn't Anyone and e ergone want the 4x32 with fiber optics ?

Its hard to tell without it in your hands, but I would give a rough estimate of $150-$300. Even though on Trijicons website the MSRP is set at around $1700, you can find a lot of models for under $1200 NIB with the scope lens brush and the neoprene cover and other stuff. I have seen many times the used ones in good condition with minor cosmetic wear at around $700-$900, so thats where my "rough estimate" comes from. The cosmetic wear is not a big deal because they are built like tanks, but soon as you start talking rust (just like on a car) it destroys value. Not to mention it does not have fiber optics. I have never heard of Trijicon ACOG's without fiber (except for their bow sights)

Even if it is a great price, make sure that you get it in writing that is isn't stolen and was legally surplused and didn't just "walk off" on it's own.

You don't want to get a good deal and then find out it is stolen government property.
