how much should I pay for an AR

ok so after much research and decision making I have my three choices for an AR

daniel defence m4 v4 (no sights, i'll add my choice of BUIS)
daniel defence m4 v5 (no sights, same as above)
s&w m&p15t

im not in a huge hurry so i have no problem looking around for a deal or sale, but im not sure of what a good deal would be on these rifles. any input on what a good price is would be greatly appreciated.

after I get this issued sorted out i'll just need to decide on topping it with either an Aimpoint or EOTech, buy a bunch of mags and a few cases of ammo.

Well to me it would depend on what you are going to use it for? If I was going to war-$2500-3gun or any competion-1200-2000-just plinking 800-1200 and that is why I have a S&W.
 
I only paid 1200 out the door for my armalite ar-10 brand new. It didnt come wit sights just the case two mags and a sling. I thought I got a hell of a deal. Also depends on what you are using it for. If it was jsut plinking I wouldnt pay much but thats just me. I have a purpose for all of my guns and plinking is one for all of them as well as hunting or self defense so I like to spend the little extra to get the better quality. But looks like you already have quality picked out, all three you have listed are excelent firearms!
 
i was wondering more along the lines if anyone had a good price range for the guns i have picked out. it will be used for recreation and home defence, im not going to war with it but it will be the rifle my handgun gets me to in an emergency. I have seen the DD rifles aroung 1150-1250 range fairly often and the s&w for about 1000, im just not sure if waiting will net me a better deal or if that is already a pretty good price

Of your three choices I would go with the Daniel Defense M4V5 midlength which I've also seen in the price range you described. Unfortunately there is no way to tell if prices will go down in the near future but I doubt that to be the case. Early this year prices went up slightly so of course it is possible they might come down, I just don't expect it.

In early December, just before the price increase, I ordered a Daniel Defense 16" LW CHF midlength upper with MOE handguards and completed the basic rifle in late January using a S&W stripped lower, BCM M4 stock kit/H buffer and Stag LPK. In effect it is a DD M4V3LW except with the MOE instead of standard rail. With iron sights, sling and a PMAG it came in at $850. It has been an excellent AR and I recommend DD highly.
