How much should I expect to pay?

I have a Star PD, .45 caliber pistol.

I love the gun, and it needs some minor maintenance work.

How much do you think I should "reasonably" expect to pay from a gunsmith to re-pin, or re-fortify my rear sight blade, which I am told is held in place by a pin from the bottom of the slide?

Is this an operation an amatuer smith could do at home?

Any information would be appreciated. I have only used a smith a couple times in my life, and I don't know any locally that are "known" to be good, or fair, by a large amount of people.

pin

Dear Sir:
If you can disassemble the gun you might be able to see that pin.
I'm not familiar with Star pistols but I can't believe that sight could be hard to re-pin.
Sorry I can't help.

Thank you very much gentlemen, I really wanted to know what ball-park I should be shopping in.

Also, I have looked for the pin and though I am no newb to firearms, I can't seem to locate it with enough positive feelings to break out tools.

I really like the gun, and want to keep it, so I hesitate to make a bozo-nono without at least a smith telling me that I have indeed located the right pin.

All input welcomed, and I thank you for the time. ;)
