How much oversize should a sabot be?

The specs for my MK85 .50 cal is suppose to be .504 bore, grooves .005" - .006" deep. I honed the shank of a drill bit on my lathe today and .501" fits into the muzzle where .5015 wouldn't. This is only 2" into the muzzle so I don't know what the rest of the barrel is. My widest groove to groove is about .512" so the depth spec seems correct.

With a .501 bore diameter, is there a recommended sabot OD amount over the bore diameter that is considered ideal? I measured several of my current sabots and they seem to average consistanly about .5085 and they load fairly easy in a dry bore. Just wondering if this is about right or if I should strive for something better? They shoot fine, I'm just tweaking things a bit. Thanks.

the Knight Green Mountain barrels are about the tightest and most consistent in the industry...................most CVA, Traditions, etc bores are around .504 and not necessarily consistent throughout the bore.
You can shoot the standard .50cal sabots without worry - I DO prefer using true .45cal bullets in the black High Pressure sabots as they tend to be a tad tighter than the.44cal bullets in the green sabots - and tighter is better.
