I am rebarrelling a turkish large-ring M-1938 ( mauser 98 large-ring clone except for small-ring threads ) and am doing it with MINIMAL specialized equipment. I would like any recommendations from others as to how much headspace to allow. I have a good supply of Rem HPBT Match and I was going to set it up to close with a .0015 shim easy, and with a .002 shim tight and no close on a .0025.I set up a 30-06 to these specs some years back with pretty good results. Do these tolerances seem ok? or a bit tight? let me know what You think, please. The barrel came pre-chambered to full depth. Thanks in advance for Your help,
