HOW MANY WILL HELP ME????

Folks, I am new to this post and no one out
there owes me anything, but I am asking for your help.
I am also one of the S.A.S members who went to Washington to defend our 2nd Amendment Rights- prior to going, there was an article put in our local paper by a gal who had recently lost her son to a gun in the wrong hands. The problem is she went, to remove all
guns and she didn't tell the whole story. Her son got shot because he was in the middle of one of our local dope rings.Drugs got him killed , not a gun.Anyway, to make an even longer story , shorter, when I went to have an ad put in the paper about the A.I.M.M. March, they refused- it took me 2 long, hard weeks of fighting and finally I got a small front page story.COOL!

Some guy who just moved into our area, which has no clue that this lady's son was shot because of drugs, posted an editorial
telling how S.A.S were stupid , misinformed
and apparently just thinks all these tradgedies and gun violence will go away on it's own and on and on , knowing nothing obviously of what he was talking about.
At any rate, I can take the razing, that does not bother me in the least, but I thought it would be really fun to see him get so many snail mail responses against his anti-gun stance that he could hardly keep up with his mail.
I would like to know how many of you would help me out by sending him a personal letter
letting him know how we are all not mis-informed and how we all stick together on this pro-gun issue and will defend our Constitutional Rights.
Any one care to help????

This is in reply to the article Guy Ellis
printed on May 9-(Guy was the reporter)in
your newspaper regarding the Armed Informed Mothers March; armed maybe, but most certainly misinformed.The Second Amendment to the Constitution states: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
"What does this mean? I agree with Cheif Justice Warren Berger, who wrote, "The real purpose of the Second Amendment was to insure that the 'state armies' - militia-
would be maintained for the defense of the state.... The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to garuantee every citizen an unfrettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires."
The National Rifle Association( and I assume the Second Amendment Sisters) believes
the cycle of escalating gun violence will evidsently end on it's own as htey advocate for"no new gun laws" This sounds alot like the "just say no" and we know what a failure that has been on both the drugss and teenage pregnacies. The proposals of the Million Mom Marchers seem to me to be promoting "responsible gun ownership"

1- No-nonsense enforcement of gun laws" I think another national association advocates for this as well.

2-"Sensible cooling off periods and background checks" This would help prevent crimes of passion as well as make it harder for the mentally unstable and those already
proven to disregard the lives of others to obtain handguns.
3- "License handgun owners and register all handguns" Requiring the succesful completion of a gun safety course (such as the NRA'S excellent one) makes sense to me ; would you give someone a drivers license without knowing if they can drive? The police will have an easier time solving crimes if they can track the weapons used to their last legal owner.
4- "Safety locks for all handguns" Ms.Langhann said Our guns haven't hurt anyone(what I really said was my& my familes); the Second Amendment Sisters must indeed be a select group, as the rest of us are subject to accidents. In 1994, unsecured guns in the homes resulted in the unintentional shooting deaths of 526 young people in this country.
5- "Limit purchase to one gun a month" Somewhere between the legal manufacture of handguns and their illegal use is a transaction that oputs the weapon in the hands of someone inclined to use it in a criminal fashion; a great many of these transactions involve traffickers who depend on the ability to purchase weapons in volume and the lack of the ability of the authorities to trace the individual slaes. This proposal would go along way towards putting them out of buisness.

What I had orignally stated in my article was jsut htat I was going to the AIMM March because I wanted to defned our rights and I had, had enough. I also said My and my familes guns hadn't hurt anyone-not that no ones guns have- like the criminals!!!!!
I also said we needed more parental responsibility in the homes where there isn't
any and we would teach our children to swim so they do not drowned, we teach them to
drive ,s o they are safe drivers, why can't we teach them firearms safety and responsible'gunownership along with responsible living. The I told when, where the march would be and anyone wishing to go

Please folks, if I have siad anything wrong, I can take constructive crticism, but hwat that guy siad in his article is plain professional slamming by a Doctor who don't have a clue-

Letter to the Editor
Once again , I am not crying because someone is hassling me, I just think this
uneducated Doctor needs to know that I am not the only one with this opinon.

If that is his article word for word, it's not real hard to see what kind of idiot we are dealing with. First he says that the NRA should not have guns, and that our efforts of dealing with gun safety is bogus..... then he says that people who want guns should be registered and trained by....the NRA! ( because they offer a good program)
Sounds like this guy should run for office!
He can walk the line almost as well as Klinton, and Gore. Every time someone like this opens their mouth.... they insert their foot. Maybe he should have gone to 8 more years of school..... to learn how to think.
