How many rounds do you carry and what type?

I keep my CCW stoked with .357 125gr JHP-GD. One speed loader of the same, and a second speed loader with .357 158gr FMJ (for penetrating cover if needed).

Six 45 Colt in my revolver, 230 grain Speer Gold Dots. Twelve more of the same load, six on belt slide and six in a MTM ammo wallet.

Daily:
10+1 Winchester JHP (Glock 21)
5 Federal 165g HydraShock (Taurus 455)
10 S & B 230 FMJ ("Stellar Clips" for T455)
Traveling add:
10 Winchester JHP (Spare Mag for G21)
12 S & B 230 FMJ (CaseGard)

When I carry my S&W 940 it's loaded with a moon clip full of the Mag-Safe 50-gr. "Mini-Glock Load" and 4 extra moon clips loaded with Remington's 124-gr. GSHP. For my pre-model 10, it's loaded with Federal's 110-gr Hydra-Shok non-plus P .38 Special and it's backed up with the same ammo in 2 speed-loaders. Finally, if I have my model 28 on for the day it's loaded with the 125-gr. GSHP from Remington backed up with a Bianchi Speed-Strip loaded with the same ammo. Thanks, Walt.

Basic rule is...

For open belt gun, I carry full gun and two reloads.

For concealed gun, I carry full gun and one reload.

Type of ammo varies depending on what I'm carrying. Usually it will be a heavy WC or SWC design, HP if available, loaded to a smartly moving but not maximum level. I'm also partial to Federal HydrShok in .38 Special, and Federal 125 HP in .357 Magnum.

Most days - -

Commander with 15 to 17 rounds of 230 Gold Dot HP, depending on if I'm using seven- or eight-round magazines.

Sometimes an Airweight Chief OR a Colt Agent, with a Speed Strip. All ammo is Remington 158 LSWCHP+P.

Rarely, a High Power, both mags full of 125 GDHP. Occasionally a second spare mag with 116 FMJ.

Best,
Johnny

124gr GD HP in a Ruger SP101 357. 12 more rounds in two Bianchi speed strips, one in off hand front pocket and one in offhand back pocket.

I'm thinking of switching to Remington 158 LSWCHP+P because I can followup faster and more accurately with that load.
