How many Pre-64 Mod 70s were in 218 Bee?

Hi Harley or anybody else,

How scarce are these things? It turns out that my Model 70 which was marked as a .22 Hornet is actually a .218 Bee.

Because of this, two brand new boxes of ammo went to my very happy brother.

My information is from Roger Rule's "The Rifleman's Rifle (1996).
Apparently there were no factory chambering in .218 Bee for Model 70.
This must have been privately done.

4V50 Gary, I would have to agree with Herodotus. I'm unable to find any information that indicates a Winchester Model 70 has ever been offered in the .218 Bee caliber from the factory. My guess is someone has rechambered the rifle from its original .22 Hornet caliber to the .218 Bee caliber without properly marking the gun with this change.
