There have been many times when I leave the house I don't know where I will end up before the day is over. Since I carry I do know where I am not suppose to carry but sometimes I feel that my handgun is safer(not counting me) on my hip than in my car when I find myself at a resturant that serves alcohol for example.
What do you guys do when you find yourself in this situation?

I don't know about NC, but here the law says that you cab carry in a resteraunt that serves as long as alcohol isn't the primary product they sell.

I do carry when I pick my kids up from school sometimes though. That is defeinately verbotten.

My philosophy is simple...honest, law-abiding gun owners are honest and follow the law. Those who don't are neither honest or law-abiding and are no different than other criminals or dishonest people. My $.02.

I try to do my best to follow the law on carrying to the letter. Virginia is a pretty easy state, I dont go to church and since I dont drink I'm never in a bar. Also around my area you dont see to many "No gun" signs but I dont really go looking for them either. There are times when I'm out and unexpectedly got to dinner somewhere that has a bar in it, if I cant get to my car then I'm left with no choice. Although I thought that law was changed.....

One thing that really gets to me is DC. I live right outside of DC and alot of times me and the girl will decide to go out to eat or go shopping on M street or Adams morgan while in VA. That always means a trip back to the house and no gun in one of the worst cities in the country. If I know for sure that I'll be somewhere that carrying is prohibited, I leave the gun at home. I hate leaving my gun in the car..

only places i dont carry is in court houses..or college campus...anywhere else..i keep it concealed..in pocket/holster...:)

I'd say this thread neither promotes nor represents responsible gun ownership and should get shut down pretty fast.

"Hey how many of you break the law?" :barf:

In my state it says that I cannot carry in an establishment that has an age restriction of 21 or older. I would check yours if I were you.

Fixed.

Like I've said in numerous previous posts this is the type of thing that the media LOVES to report. That SOME of us are irresponsible lawbreakers so NONE of us should be able to carry a weapon. Just one of the reasons I can't carry in Illinois. We don't need some goober feeling like he/she is above the law. Our newspapers rarely print articles about people lawfully defending themselves and others, but I ALWAYS read about some idiot taking the law into his own hands and being irresponsible with a gun. I don't agree with the laws here in Illinois but alas, they are the laws.

Silly question. Why would anybody admit to this? I will say, in all honesty, that I do not break gun laws. I feel it is my responsibility to myself, my family, and all of you frat brothers of mine to obey all the laws, whether I agree with them or not.

I also concur that this discussion isn't in anyone' best interests. Everyone should have been instructed during their CC classes and in their state reg's where carry is prohibited. Pretty soon we'll be discussing carrying w/o a permit.....:o
To answer the OP question, you go back to your car and leave it....

I carry where it is legal. I don't carry where it is not.

Concealed is concealed. Judged by 12......from my cold dead hands.... are all wonderful quotes when sitting at home in from of a computer. Not worth anything when you get caught.

It is not worth losing my license to carry 99% of the time by breaking the law for that other 1%.

Let's re-fix: Those who INTENTIONALLY don't....
