I got into a discussion with my wife concerning her calling my Ka-Bar a "dagger". She countered with "just how many knives do you have?" For the life of me I don't know. I know I have at least 30. How about guys and gals? Let's list how many knives we have.
1-Cold Steel
1-Ka-bar
1-Cold Steel SRK
1-Glock bayonet
5-Swiss Army
1-SMKW Damascus pocket knife.
That's all I have time for right now. This list is far from complete.

Somewhere between 400- 500.
 Do you run a shop?

Personally, I have 10. Mostly folders, with a couple survival-type fixed blades and field-dressing knife. I never got into collecting.

Around 5-10. BTW, just my personal interpretation but I thought for it to be a dagger it had to have a double edge. Although on second thought, some kabars do have them.

dagger

n 1: a short knife with a pointed blade used for piercing or stabbing [syn: sticker] 2: a character used in printing to indicate a cross reference or footnote [syn: obelisk]

I think a dagger has to have a pointy, symetrical tip. Rounded tips that are asymetrical like a Kabar or a Buck 119 would disqualify from "dagger" status. But this definition here does not include anything about symmetry, only mentions the pointed blade.

Guys, I'm into knives too. Got probably several hundred ranging from a genuine Civil War bayonet to a Cold Steel Ti-Lite, to a beautiful custom, hand-made knife my father made for my grandfather in 1943 (he was a machine shop tool maker), but it ain't firearms, tactics, or training related.

As much as I'd enjoy this thread myself, we need to stay on topic.

Sorry folks; closed.
