How many countries have adopted the AK74?

Certainly the ME countries are using the ones that were captured during jthe Soviet war with Afghanistan... I think the most recent photos of the Chinese showed them to have the -47 style. IIRC, I did see some Palestinians with Kalashnikovs and the -74 style muzzle brake.

I'm thinking that the 7.62 x 39 cartridge is still in high surplus in 3rd world countries, and the newer 5.45 round is a little difficult to get so many armies are sticking with issuing the -47 for the time being. I don't remember seeing many -74 style rifles in the latest round of Balkan fighting either.

Considering there's over 50,000,000 AK's out there I think pretty much of all the third world countries use them,or varients anyway.India makes thier own version of the AK as well as alot of other weapons(FAL's,M16's,SKS's,Enfields,etc.)The Chinese are starting to make thier own "improved" AK in 6mm in a bullpup configuration to replace the Russian designed guns they've been making since the 50's. Russia is so cash poor they're practicaly giving them away much like the US giving the Israeli's as many as they can buy with US aid money at bargain basement price's.

Antbody know how many M16's are out there?

I think 16 millions M16 type series (m4, etc.) were made. It might be as much as 20 millions but don't hold me to those numbers.

What is this Chinese 6mm bullpup?

I could be wrong, but I think that the Indians use 5.56x45mm INSAS assault rifle, which combines features from the AK, the FN-FAL and the M-16. I think it uses M-16 mags.

I wonder how different it is from the Korean Daewoo K2, which also combines the elements of the three aforementioned rifles.

It seems to me that when a rifle is made with the AK action system and combined with FN-FAL and M-16 features and ergnomics, the result is often superb.

I don't know which countries have them, but I recently adopted one from Arizona Response Systems. The rifle and 5.45 ammo is a joy to shoot.
