How many are ready

As the days get darker and the media as news camera's everywhere how many are ready if it came down to the do or die time. Not that it will happen tomorrow, or the next year or so, but how many would be ready to die if a all out war happend. NRA prez said he wont give his (arms) up. It would be a little more than sitting tucked in your house and hoping that they (political police) dont come a knocking. Do you have supplies, which weather there was a war or not you should have in case of natural emergencys. Is there a place to go to if you live in the city.

Kinda curious how many people would be ready for the bad times that we could face in the near future. Always better to be prepared that to be running around at the last minute.

I can say with confidence that if it came time to fight, I would be screwed. LIke in suburbia, have food stuff, and could live off dried stuff for a long time, but no plan for water and today I don't have the ammo to defend squat. maybe 300 rd 223 and 200 rds of .45 but I have all kinds of 22, so I could get some small stuff. planning on stocking up at the gunshow tomorrow. as for a place to go. there isnt anything really close, I guess the santa cruz mountians, but i don't know them well enough. maybe some time soon I can get to know them.

Patriots could shut down this country without firing a shot.

We maybe being harrassed right now but there is no way anyone is going to directly assault the 2nd amendment.

We must prevent the gradual errosion of liberty, and that is not as dramatic.

oh i was drifting off there.
most of the population is not prepared...for anything beyond a few days duration. certainly not an armed conflict.
i guess we are all asleep at the wheel when it comes to preparedness.
p.s.
if you have got to stockpile something think artillery. no citizen army has ever won a modern insurection without artillery support.

Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the outcome of the vote.

I prefer armed combat to unarmed combat. It's easier on the knuckles.

All stocked up here!

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains
seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all
must be most aware of change in the air - however slight -
lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."
--Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas

As Spock said in Star Trek 2, The Wrath of Khan: "He's thinking two dimensionally, Captain."

More to the point, how would one oppose the spy satellites, attack helicopters, and F11's? I'm fresh out of that kind of stuff.

Attack Helicopters and Artillery need soldiers or people to operate them. I hope to God that those who can operate them have enough sense to know right from wrong.

And yes there are enough Veterans and Patriots out here to "get" what we need and be able to operate it to help us out.

But I am ready with hardware but I still need the software. (ammo ;) )

Your freedoms will be slowly eroded. You will never have a chance to die in a meaningful struggle. Rights will be forgotten over many years and public opinion will be molded to oppose your position. If you want to fight, then fight a meaningful battle and change the media and the school system. It is the fight for public opinion that counts. To think that you can use your guns is to ignore the real danger. Look to the education of the young and the indoctrination of the population. We don't live in the eighteenth century. While you point your guns out the window, the real danger will destroy this country.

Gary, you hit the 10X on that one. I don't think there will ever be an armed revolution. The sheeple will be appropriately programmed to accept the socialist pacifist agenda - and not lift a finger to resist.

Longshot,

All you need is a diversion. From the air everything looks two dimensional (Vulcans rule). Just make a two dimensional tank (or other military hardware) to correct size using wood, cardboard, and maybe a little paint. They'll be using all their resources attacking these tanks or trying to figure out if their really tanks. If your more talented then me you could make them modular so you can transport them anywhere and assemble the tank in minutes.

Worked in Serbia.

RPG's and mortars worked pretty good for the V.C. in Nam until the Chi-coms gave them field artillery. In Afganistan we supplied stingers and mortars via CIA pipelines thru Pakistan. they did not kick the Russians butts but they gave them a hell of a bloddy nose.
p.s. some of the field pieces we faced in Nam were the same guns captured by the Chi-coms in Korea from us.

of course all this is play talk. if and when the crap flies anyone fighting back will have to capture what they use or get supplied from an outcountry source. same as any civil war or insurection.

Have any of you ever read or watched some of Anthony J. Hilder stuff. He talks about the NWO and how they want to take over. Many Big name people/companys are part of it. Its pretty sad that we can say that the sheeple are programed to let it happen, so why did we ever break away from England? So we can sit here and say we watch our great country fall apart day by day. It saddens me to think that in the years to come that there could be no freedoms left, or freedoms that we have know in the past. We aren't free today, we just say it isnt too bad yet, but can you go and just pick out a firearm and say I want that and be on your way, no you have to be approved first, Is that freedom? You can go on and on with things but this country has been falling for a while. Gov't programs are the worst thing that this country can have, i.e. Welfare, S.S. These are like a Boa Constricter, they more they gove the tighter their grasp getsand the more dependant people become on gov't untill they have total control. We might not have to have a revolution and we might not have our freedom either.

I read this a long time ago so I might be off on a little of it.I think it was written by G.Gordon Liddy. He told how 200 men could shut this whole country down.He said there where something like 100 major distrabution centers for elctricity.A high power rifle round in one of the tramsformers at each center.Transformers built overseas with a 6 month wait. The other thing was natural gas and regular fuels pumping stations.A aplication of a small amount of explosives to each. This was a something he set up to show how terrorists could do a number on us with very little effort.Think about it!!!!Its scary in how easy it could be.

We have a criminal jury system which is superior to any in the world;
and its efficiency is only marred by the difficulty of finding twelve men
every day who don't know anything and can't read.

beemerb, why do you think there's so much nervousness about "Terrorism"? I imagine that the various countries whose folks hate the Great Satan understand full well how few "nodes" could be taken out and turn off a lot of A/Cs and computers.

Even back in the worst days of Cold War tensions, I was more concerned about a Bad Suitcase coming in from Canada or Mexico; or a tramp freighter coming into the Port of YouNameIt...

Reading all the above posts, I'd say that a majority of the U.S. population actually exercises very few of its rights. The vast majority is unaffected by police, but for traffic tickets; they don't break the law. They don't have small businesses; they are employees. As long as the lights work, the water flows, and their favorite programs are on the tube, Life Is Good. For them, there is absolutely no need for anything approaching a "revolution". For them, the question is, "What's the point".

Given how they live, what we see as a worsening of the times and erosions of liberties won't ever affect them at all--and their kids won't even notice.

Yuck.
