How long is Hoppes #9 good for?

I found a 20-year-old bottle of it in some of my old boxes. It was tightly sealed and, for what it's worth, smells like new. :D

Is it still good?

I bet if you can still get high off it, and/or give yourself that pounding headache sniffin' it, it's still good. :D

Dip in a brush and scrup some carbon.

If it's still good now (probably is), it won't be after you dunk the brush in it. When you put it to work dissolving your brushes, it's not going to be too hungry for copper.

I have found that diesel #2

Works pretty good, soak it for awhile. Quite a bit cheaper, smells just as bad.

Leaves a nice oily film on them. I have never set anything on fire with it, not by accident that is.
Diesel fuel is a good one but illegal to start fires any more, you have to break out your Boy Scout knife and whittle, then light it and get it going.
Ca. at it again, oh well keeping my whittling skills going.
Hey, they can dump there fuel in the sky when landing with too much, but you can't us 1 oz to start yur blaze:confused: ...

I hope it was stored on its side!

A 1985 bottle of Hoppes was rated 99 points by Solvent Spectator. The 1985 vintage year was marked by terrible hair styles and exceptionally bad cars. The factory pulled it out in the end, creating one of It was the best year in ten for this wonderful classic.

Properly cellared, that vintage will drink well for another twenty years!

My suggestion is to decant it before you pour the first glass.
