How long before Al Gore says "I love the 2nd Amendment and always have."

We all know that Al Gore will say anything to get elected.

I wonder, with the polls showing him lagging badly among men and his getting less than a normal share of union members (due to his gun and social issue positions)- when will Gore hold a press conference, with HCI's blessing and tell the country "I love the 2nd amendment and always have".

He will also have Tommy Lee Jones in the background yelling "get rid of that shiney pimp gun and get a Glock" (or something like that, can't remember).

Of course this will be a total fraud designed to get Gore elected so that he can institute British style gun control/mind control on all of us.

It may not turn out to be as dramatic as above, but I bet he will try something like this if he is still behind in the polls.

Go to nraila.org There is an article there from the NYT about Gore 'Running Silent' on the gun issue.

I want to see him hide it in the debates. I submit that he will say he supports 2nd Amendment and then try to somehow divide gunowners along the lines of hunters vs. non-hunters.

On this issue, Gore could really hurt himself in Mich and Penn, which I am praying for. I DON'T want him to run silent on the issue.

Notice no huge press release after New Orleans shooting ?!!

You're too late -- he's already said that. Gore claims that he supports the Second but that his proposals for licensing, ID cards, bans on certain types of weapons that he thinks appear threatening, etc., don't infringe on that right. "You have a right to bear all the arms that the Democratic National Committee says you can bear as long as you meet the requirements we impose."

Sort of like Bill Clinton's remark that his gun laws didn't prevent duck hunters from continuing to use their rifles that season.

Well it (the law) DID prevent them for doing just that!!!!! Hunters can NOT use rifles for Duck Hunting!

The correct quote from the move "US Marshals is, "Get rid of that nickel plated sissy pistol." He was referring to Rob Lowe's SIG, which looked like it had a hard-chrome finish.

I'd like to see him hide from this issue in the debates, too. But I doubt Bush will say anything to raise the issue; He's hiding from it as much as Gore, maybe more so. NEITHER of them want to touch the issue with a ten foot pole!

Right after the polls tell him a majority of Americans are anti-abortion. Then he`ll claim he invented it.

Yea, its Downey. Check out this movie poster. It doesn't look like Tommy Lee is carrying a Glock.

Perhaps he picked up Downey's sissy pistol - that rascal.

By the way, you can adjust the window size for a bigger view of the poster. Normal seems clearest.

Gun rights is a joker in the deck that Bush will play at the right time. Gore has a pretty good idea of the strength of the pro-2's in key battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania. There may be a slew of blue-collar democrats in those states, but they are gun-totin' blue-collar democrats. I maintain Gore would have already played the anti-2 card if it was to his advantage. He is quiet because he will lose where it counts. Bush is quiet because there is no need to stir up the anti-2's.

If either candidate perceives the gap widening against him, the gun issue will be pulled out. Evidence??? Abortion was a quiet issue until last week when out of the clear blue, the FDA approved the abortion pill. Was that happenstance? Not in Clinton's Amerika. He and Gore read the tea leaves and saw trouble out there for Gore and they had to do something to energize that part of the base. Look to Bush to get pounded during the debates and afterwards about his stand on abortion.

I doubt either candidate will bring it up.

People who care about this issue on either side already know who they're voting for.
