How I pick a handgun

A very common thread which appears in this forum is a request for purchasing advice. Here's my advice: Get 'em all!

When I was getting a pistol for carry, I didn't ask "Glock or HK?" I went out and got a Glock, saved up my pennies and ordered an HK (this afternoon, as a matter of fact)

Get out a sheet of paper, get out a pen, make up a firearms wish list, and then get to work on saving up for them! After my HK comes in I'll save up for a Sig, then a Browning, then a Para-Ordinance. After those, a Ruger revolver..or should I get a CZ? What the hell...I'll get them both! I'll get them all! Eventually.

Firearms are not a hobby. They are a lifestyle.

This really is the only approach to take if you are serious about firearms. Asking around about guns will never satisfy your curiosity. You gotta buy the guns for that. Fortunately, if you shop right, buying guns is no different than putting money in the bank. You should be able to sell guns you don't fancy for around the same price you paid for them (if you take care of them that is). I personally don't worry too much about how much I spend on guns because they are a form of capital. I know if I put an ad in the paper for one of my guns, the thing will be sold the first day.
