How Far?

Hello everyone,I have a Marlin Lever action not sure on the model.. Anyways it's a 44MAG and I was wondering how far do you think it could shoot with 250 grain hollow points or soft points whatever you like to call em.. I have I think a 4x40 scope on it.. So How far could I shoot without any great trajectory changes?
 
Depends on what you consider a "great trajectory change"

With a Hornady 240 XTP @ 1800FPS with a 1.5" sight height, a 100 yard zero will put you about an inch high at 50 and 75 yards, 2 inches low at 125 and 5 inches low at 150 yds. It pretty much drops like a rock after that.

Grab a couple of boxes of ammo, find a place where you can shoot for 300 yards or so, set up a target, start shooting. Best way I know of finding what a rifle can do (and, more importantly, what I can do..).
