How do you stand the wait?

I just completed the class and sent in the application for my Texas CHL. They have sixty days to get it to me and I have heard that on average you can expect in about fifty. That is seven loooong weeks. I don't know what I am going to do. I am already pacing the floor. Maybe buying a new gun will help. :)
 
You could go play paintball...
Or flesh out your new wardrobe.
Work on your draws and movements while concealed in your own home before you venture out in the public. Try concealed lawn mowing... and have your wife watch to make sure you dont "print".

I am waiting to file a law suit aganst my county for non issue. I go in fromt of the gun board soon. When thay say no, I will move foward.

They could say yes, and to tell you the truth that will almost bum me out.

I almost can't remember waiting. GA had CCW long before it was cool. In a year, I'll be applying for my 2nd renewal on a 5-year license.

Go start researching carry rigs, and buy one and wear it around the house some. Then when you find it doesn't work that well, try another. Then again.

Hopefully, you'll have spent less than the cost of a new quality pistol in carry rigs by the time you find something that works for you. ;)
 
I think the main reason the *wait* sucks is because you have just done a bunch to prove there is no reason you should be a threat to anyone and now a pencil pusher has a portion of your current existance on their desk which you bought. Also you know damn well you made a good decision and a commitment to do it right. The worst part is to come when you get the plastic and you are actually relieved..like I was.
I knew I was a good guy then. I had government approval.
I still pace the floor.
 
The wait is bad because you know, deep down, that you shouldn't have to go through all this hoop-jumping.

Think thoughts about unseating anti-freedom politicians, and how you might best contribute to that fight.
 
Bdog, wait till they send back your fingerprints because the cop who takes them every day of his life couldn't get yours "good enough". Then you have to get new ones and resend them. And the 60 day clock starts ALL OVER! Then, you'll get mad.
