How do you reverse the mag release on a Sig 239?

The Sig 239 in .40 has made my short list for my next pistol purchase. As a lefty, though, I'm insisting upon a mag release under my thumb. I've read that all Sigs except the heel-release 232s have reversable releases. But my examination of a 239 in a store did not offer any clues as to how to do it. The magazines, though, have a notch for a magazine catch on each side, which is a hint that it can be done.

Can anyone here enlighten me?

The mag releases are indeed reversible on all Sig guns except for the P232. You need to take off the grips. Then, on the frontside of the mag release button, you should see a smaller button. With a paperclip, slightly press in on the mag release button while you press on the smaller button with the tip of the paperclip.

The small button keeps the mag release button in place. The small button has a spring and will come out with the button and the mag release button should now come out along with it's spring. On the opposite side of the mag release there's a plate to keep things in place.

Take out the plate and put it on the other side. Then insert the mag release button with it's spring with the hole for the smaller button facing forward. Put the smaller button with it's spring in and carefully push on the smaller button with the tip of the paperclip while you push in the mag release button.

Take note that the exposed surface of the smaller button should have a raised "bump" on half of it. That bump goes on the inside of the frame. Look at the diagram of the pistol before attempting so you get an idea of the parts and the way they are oriented. Also, take note as you do it. If not, have a gunsmith do it.
