how do you hold you stipper clips in a match?

I'm thinking about going back into to 3 gun, but not with an AR15. I want to run with my Hakim Rifle from Egypt in 8mm Mauser, Beretta 92fs to keep it correct and the marlin 120 will tag along. If it goes well i might go with my Enfield No5 MK1 and 1911. The question is how do i carry all of these stripper clips and have easy access to them? I have a old bandoleer from Greek 303 British ammo but i don't see a way to use it efficiently.

Thank you for your replies.

Back in the day, when the Springfield 03 was considered a "service rifle", shooters had to reload from their ammunition belts. This was true up to the 60's for the Garand shooters as well.

I have never shot any "three gun" matches and I assume you are shooting against time with shortest time through the event determining the winner.

These are modern games but the rules did not guide combat rifle design then or now. I remember talking with a veteran of Iraq/Afghanistan about how long it took to determine that your rifle was empty and how fast it took to reload, and this gentleman said to me :”you don’t realize that I have 16 other Soldier’s with me”. I got the idea rapidity of reload was nice and fine, but, while you are down, 16 other guys have your back covered. I have enough old ammo pouches for bolt rifles and the primary consideration in the design of these things is to keep the stripper clips from falling out, not rapidity of reload. When the enemy was that close, and time was pressing, you used your bayonet.

You can find ammo belts or ammo bandoliers for these old rifles. I would recommend looking for Mosin Nagant pouches, I saw some recently at a military surplus store. https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=102 I have used them for years to hold my 308 rapid fire rounds. For 30-06 rounds I found Danish leather ammo pouches. Mine are painted white, these are black https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=163

Real men hold them in their teeth. :)

Are there categories for the guns of yesteryear in 3 gun?
Maybe you could start something.
Sounds like fun - using the old stuff.

The time I shot my K98 in a 3-gun, I used what I had, Mosin Nagant pouches.

I want to one day try my Enfield No5 MK1, but never had great luck with stripper clips, but 10 rounds in the magazine would definitely be an improvement, and it has better sights.
