How do you carry loaded moonclips?

I keep the .45ACP and .45 WinMag moon clips for my Dan Wesson 7460 in a .44 Mag double speedloader case that I trimmed down a bit. Works like a champ.

- - -With the proper size speedloader case, you can double up--One loaded full moon on top of the other. One double pouch can hold 24 rounds.

Works fine for SWC loads. I think I'd put a cardboard spacer between upper and lower layers with hard ball loads--To keep the hard RN bullet noses away from the primers of the other clipful.

I also made a pouch which holds two half moon clips side by side. It sticks out from the belt very little more than standard cartridge loops.

If you go to a coin store you can buy, for about a buck, a plastic carrier designed to hold 20 gold or silver one ounce coins. They are the perfect size to hold two loaded moon clips back to back.

I secured the lid on mine with a piece of packing tape and flipping it off one handed to get to the moon clips is easy to learn.

It just looks like an opaque white plastic container and it is handy to just grab and go.

Because it protects the clips you dont have to worry about bending one of them and ruining the reason for having them in the first place!

I carry mine in a belt pouch by Sam Andrews.

this pouch allows the moonclip to straddle the belt, and wraps around it, with a snap at the top. He calls it the 'slimloader' pouch. They are for speedloaders, but he will make them special for use with moonclips. Not cheap, at $30, but darn well worth it.
You do not even know they are there, and since half the thing is inside the belt, it has a very low profile.
