Gentlemen
i have just purchased a browning cynergy 12 ga ,o/u,28 inch barrels
i was trying to clean the barrels from the anti-rust compound per
the owners manual instructions and after many, many, patches with hoppes #9, rem-oil, and even synthetic spray barrel blaster, i simply cannot get a patch to come out clean-the "orangish" colored anti-rust stuff they use at the factory will not leave the barrel!!! I even used a nylon brush soaked in the aforementioned materials and i still cannot get a clean patch.
I am at my wits end with this problem im running out of patience--and patches!!!!!
Helllllp

Id skip the brake cleaner,it could seriously damage the finish.Brake cleaner should NEVER be used on any gun IMHO.

Um brake cleaner is bad and gun blast ok?

Anyway anybof the aggressive solvents are ok on metal. Plastic / paint or wood very likely not so much. Controll the flow and you are fine.
