Don't need one at this point, but what if?.....

What if I am justified in defending my life and am force to use deadly force? I want the best attorney I can afford. Tried the local bar assoc., links, etc. Anyone know of a good source or attorney in North Central WV?

Try contacting the NRA. If it is some type of special case, or maybe even close, they will assist your attorney. I know one of the NRA lawyers.

Hope neither of us ever need one.

Massad Ayoob recommends first
seeking out the local police/sheriff
departments' attorney. If that doesn't
pan out, he recommends you ask around the
courthouse-clerks,etc. for someone they
would recommend who fits your needs.

I would suggest you also ask your most
active statewide pro-gun group.
Once you've located the right attorney,
make an appointment and ask him about cases
he has handled.
As for your specific locale, can't help.

You might call Ayoob's LFI in New Hampshire
and see if they can give you a lead.

What would you do if you have no money?I am in that situation and it scares me to think about.A public defender? From what I hear you are better off defending yourself.

I know that Gun Owners of America has associated with the Gun Owners Foundation.

"Gun Owners Foundation has been involved in numerous cases of assistance to organizations and individuals against federal firearms charges, as well as state and local prosecutions for the use of a firearm in self-defense. "

That is the address of the Lawyers Second Amendment Society.

Great question!

See what the Rutherford institute has to say about it. They defend constitutional cases pro-bono.

Thank you ALL so much for all of the helpful responses. The question has crossed my mind often, as the aftermath of an incident could possibly be a more tramatic experience than the assult itself. I truly hope that none of us ever need legal representation, but if we do, it would be nice if we knew who to turn to for legal defense. You all have given me leads that should turn up someone with a good reputation. -Thanks

Best Regards,
