How do I carry on my bike?

I mean a bicycle by the way. Gas prices have got me looking at riding my bike instead of driving.

I do NOT have my CCW yet. I live in VA and it take 45 days. However, I'd like to pack my gear (HK P2000 and Glock 20) in my backpack and bike up to the range. Dunno for sure though.

But . . . do peaceable journey laws cover bicycles?
 
I doubt that there is a legal way for you to take a handgun on your bicycle, absent a CCW license, that would not expose you to prosecution for concealing a weapon. Even if it's in a box or something, it's clearly "on or about your person" when you're on a bike.

Get the license, or accept the risk of "being judged by 12 rather than carried by 6" if you decide to carry before your license arrives, and you need the gun to defend your life.


People have been known to carry when moving to a shall-issue state and waiting for the delivery of their CCW license... :rolleyes: *whistles innocently*
