How do i attach a scope to my S&W 629

Aussie, B-Square makes a no-gunsimthing mount that clamps to the barrel and uses the rear sight recess to hold it. I don't recommend this for the .44. I had one on a Model 29 several years ago and it didn't last very long shooting hunting loads. I recommend you have the pistol drilled and tapped and mount a rail on the top strap. That's the most secure method I know of. George

If Aussie's 629 was produced within the last decade or so, the top strap should already be drilled and tapped for a scope mount. If so, I recommend the Weigand scope mounts.

thanks i'll give the Weigand mounts a try

what do you reccommend a red-dot scope or a low powered variable pistol scope.

thx
