How come no premium .45acp in 200gr.?

Always had my best accuracy with 200 grain target reloads in either lead SWC's or plated flat points.
So how come no mfg. offers this weight in premium defense loads, all I can find are 200 or 185 grainers, except Hornady who offers a plus +P offering.
Don't want +P or a 185 grainer, just like the little extra velocity you get from a 200 over a 230.

Ammo manufacturers probably figure that those who want more velocity will drop down to 185.
Or, there's just not enough of a market to develop premium loads in three different .45 bullet weights.
I'll admit to carrying a .45 for years, doing 99% of my shooting with 200gr reloads, but all of my carry ammo has been 230s or, rarely, 185s.

There's a few options out there....

Sig V Crown 200 gr. JHP. Midwayusa has them on sale.

Hornady Custom or Fiochi 200 gr. XTP

Gold Dot 200 gr +P

Also there's 200 grain loadings from Buffalo Bore, DoubleTap, and Underwood.

Speer 200 grain Gold Dot Hollow Point ammo.
It is rated +P, which normally means about 100 - 125 fps more velocity in a 45 acp. If you want a 200 grain bullet that works, this load is as good as it gets.

Just a quick cruise on Midway shows about 5 different varieties, I think 3 are in stock. I normally run 230grn as my defensive carry ammo, but I have a new alloy Kimber and it seems to prefer 200grn as well... so I feel your pain. Not a big +P guy, particularly in my 4" Kimbers, my facial hair has finally grown back since the last time I fired it and the fireball singed it off.
