Beretta 'Stampede', 5.5" barrel, .357 mag. cal. Is this a quality pistol? Suitable and appropriate for Cowboy action shooting?

A guy at my range had one, i had a few shots,
and the quality is a tad better than the cattelman
in 45, and the fin is a tad better to, they are a
nice looking pistol good for cas.

I had two and both were exellent.

They have a transfer bar safety like a Ruger and are hence safe fully loaded.

Unlike a Ruger New Vaquero, the Berettas load on the half cock and otherwise are slightly closer to Colt traditions than Ruger.

I've heard nothing bad about them. Beretta now owns Uberti and specified Uberti's highest available quality control levels which is very close to Ruger. I chose a New Vaq because I like being able to swap parts around - mine wears a SuperBlackhawk hammer fr'instance.

But the Stampede series is respectable.
