If anyone reads my posts, they already know. My Marlin 1895 Stainless Guide Gun, in 45/70. Simms recoil pad, non ported. That is a Simmons 2.5x shotgun scope, 5" of eye relief. I am not a Scout scope fan these days. It is my weekend pal, hanging out around the house if I don't get to shoot it. Back in the safe during the week. I sit on the couch with it, surf the internet with it, keep it propped in the corner, in case an elephant gets away from the circus. It is my good friend. Too bad it can't talk. If it could, it'd probably call a BS on all of the hunting lies I tell. :D :D

Now, how 'bout yours.

My favorite hunting rifle (if yall will even call my little .22lr a hunting rifle :)) is my 1947 Remington Fieldmaster 121A .22lr. All I hunt is small game and this thing has been great. No scope or anything fancy, it's all going out in the woods the ol' fashion way. It's older than me, a blast to shoot, very accurate, reliable and is one I'll never part with.

Rather unflattering picture; only one I could really find though, just photographed the lot so I had an "inventory" in case an act of God wiped me out.

Charles Daly Field Grade Mauser in 30/06 with a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40, Weaver base and Millet Angle-Loc rings (absolute worst rings ever designed, manufactured or sold, period). Rifle was a dealer promo, scope was on sale. Poor man's tackdriver. I've actually got a Harris on it this year, so a little fancier. 5 deer in 3 seasons with it, from 90-225 yards.

I killed my first deer with this rifle. I think I bought the rifle from Montgomery Wards for about $30.00. I replaced the military stock with a Fagen Sporter stock. I removed the rear sight and sight band and replaced with a Williams 5D receiver sight that actually cost $5 dollars at the time. Although it doesn't get a lot of use lately it's still my favorite.

A new rifle??

My new favorite rifle will be my new 22-250 I just had built. I have a year to get her ready for next ground hog season. My old favorite rifles was the ground hog rifle I hunted with before. But this new rifle is going to be my new favorite, I am sure of that. However I have one problem. I have not come up with a name for her yet. Any suggestions?? Tom.

Aside from from ol' cracked stock .22 ruger bolt this is my ONLY rifle...
It is a 1977 Marlin 336 in superb mechanical condition and is pretty darn good cosmetically with some wear to the gold on the trigger and a few super small rust "dot" failures in the bluing on the receiver. I took this and a Maverick 88 12 gauge in trade for a junk ol' Lorcin .380 "JAMTASTIC"

Yes it is .30-30 and after a deer falls to it with the scope I will take it off and decide if I am gonna leave it as I prefer irons or need a small scope since my old eyes ain't so hot any more.

Hogdogs

Beware of the man who only has one gun for he knows how to use it:eek:
I can't remember who said it but it is true. It only takes one!
I have went hunting with just one bullet before, makes you a lot humbler knowing you only get one chance, (no mistakes) As you can tell from my pic I only hunt with a single shot rifle. I have others I can use,(semi auto and pump) but I like the on shot challenge:)

My Interarms Mark X .25-06. I got it last winter.. My uncle put it together and hunted with it for years and he shot a few deer and even an elk or two. I hear a coyote or two bought the farm as well. I haven't had the chance to hunt with it yet but I'm handloading for it and it shoots well. I hope to hunt next fall...

Here is mine. A NEF Survivor 308. I changed out the rear stock and put a Nikon 4x32 scope on it.

It's a toss up. The top two pictures are a .270 Enfield with a Douglas barrel and a Weaver K4 scope. The scope has since been replaced with a Leupold.

The other pictures are a 25-06 Springfield. Both rifles were made back in the 60s by my dad.
