Die works great , it's no big deal but every once an awhile the sleeve locks up , I'm not using the crimp area so I have the crimp plug set without the o ring . Disassembled the die cleaned the die again checked the sleeve and floating seating plug all works fine , for the life of me I can't see why it should lock up , I spin the sleeve and good to go . Has anyone had this problem ?

No , I'm using 230gr FMJ .451 Out of 150 maybe 15 times the sleeve would lock , the sleeve and the seating plunger are free floating . The sleeve fits around the case and aligns the bullet, the floating seting plunger rests on the top of the bullet , when the ran raises to meet the adjusted stem for AOL adjustment . Pretty simple , accurate and trouble free system . Can't figure out what could be hanging up the sleeve. I cleaned the die gave the smooth area's down with 0000 steel wool for any burrs , there were none cleaned again and wiped then down with Ballistol on a rag . One still hung up . Thinking back , I should of checked if it happened with a certain case brand .

I wonder if those cases that are hanging up the alignment sleeve might be a little longer than the others. If they are they are probably getting flared a little more and that might be what's causing the hang up. Just a thought.

Try backing out the sizing die a little and screwing in the seating stem to get the oal you want.

I was thinking on the same order , because after checking the loaded rounds in a Lyman case gage 20 of the same case brand did fit in the case , seems the base or web the bottom 3/16 as thicker , odd brand I got from my friend that doesn't reload . I think I caused the problem without a case . Strange problem .Most of the time it moves very smooth .

They were all cleaned and sized , then expanded with the Lyman M die , the bullet sits straight with little flare more like a step . After the bullet is seated the sleeve sticks in the down position .

Check for burrs , that's what I thought at first , but everything was good . It does also crimp , tomorrow I'm going to check maybe something is getting hung up on that step .

I figured out what was going on , the floating seater plug was going above the sleeve and going off center jamming the sleeve in the down position . All in the setup I bottomed the die to the shellholder like a sizing die , wrong , learn to read the instructions makes life easier.

Yes , but not as bad as trying to get that spring around those three aluminum bullet holders on a kinetic bullet puller hammer. Thank you RCBS. Thanks for responding to my post .
