Some how my beam scale is all of a sudden inaccurate. I got an electronic scale with check wrights and its been calibrated but when you comare it to my bean scale my beam scale is off .2 tenths lighter. Not sure what has happened to my beam scale for it to be inaccurate now. Can anyone that has maybe experiemced this tell me what is wromg with it and how to fix it please. Thank you

Those Hornady M scales are some of the most accurate scales due to the unique pivot system the beam rests on. Make sure you zero it before use.

Not sure what you mean about balance both ways.. here is what ive done:
The check weight with the electronic scale is a 50g check weight which is heavier than my hornady beam scale will weigh. I have no other check weighrs to try on beam scale. I did weigh a 150 graim bullet on electronjc scale. It weighed 150.5 gr. So i weighed it on beam scale and it wasnt correct. So i moved the beam scale to 150.5 gr and i tried moving the adjustment screws on end of beam arm to make it balance at 150.5gr. Then when i took bullet off beam scale and set the beam scale to 0 , it did not balance out and zero. Before i moved anytjing i could get it to balance zero by moving the adjustment screw im the base on the end. Now its all out of whack and im not sure what to do.

Ok i cleaned the damping arm, the bearings, the notches in the arm that set on bearings and i cleaned the scale pan. I set the scale weights to zero and placed pan on beam. I then adjusted those nuts on threaded end of beam to till the beam read zero. ( i didnt have to move them but just a touch. Never needed to touch the fime adjustment as the previous step zeroed it. I then weighed a charge of 43.5 gr on the electronic scale and transferred that charge of powder to the pan on the beam scale. It read 43.5 so that seemed great. I lifted the pan and then placed pan again om beam. This time the scale beam scale read the charge weight .2 lighter so it weighed 43.3gr. It was same charge of powder as before. I lifted the pan and placed it again and it once again read right at 43.5gr. I continued this a few times and it would weigh to light and then another time weighed right again. It almost seems like
The weighing is dependent on way i place the pan on the hanger such as if pan is not settimf exactly same on hanger though i dont know how that could change the weight . So it isnt consistent and not sure what to do now. Do you have any suggestions from here ofcwhat it could be causing it to be this finicky? Ive had this scale for many years and never had any problems with it till now. Thank you

First, your method is suspect.

Get some real check weights. That is a 50g for the Elec scale to establish correlation between and ideal line and actual strain gage values. Basically 0 at on end and 50g at the other. This tells you nothing about 5 gr, 30 gr and 60 gr repeatability which is what you care about.

Use check weights for that.

I had a Hornady with repeatability issues. They took it back and replaced it. I replaced it too with an rcbs 5-10. That and the 10-10 are great scales. That said, we are in the era of powder dispensers....so get with the program and step up to one of these. A real dream of a reloading tool!

By both ways I should have said front to back and end to end. Do this before attempting at zero the balance. If a balance is not level, it will not function properly.
