Hornady Get Loaded promotion

Anyone else take advantage of Hornady's Get Loaded promotion last year? I purchased several items which entitled me to free bullets. I just got notice, after quite a few weeks, that some 44 and 45 ACP bullets have shipped. Maybe the bullet situation will improve soon. Hoping....

Oh yeah. Several times last year. I've already taken advantage of it this year as well and will probably be buying a Hornady AP later in the year.

I've taken advantage of it also, my loading bench is slowly turning Hornady red since I bought my AP w/case feeder three years ago for 9mm.
I've been thinking of buying a second one with out a case feeder and will take advantage of it again. I'm a fan of standardization with interchangeability.

You bet I have.

1000 .308 150 FMJ projos when I bought my LnL AP
900 .45 185 XTP HP through various die purchases

If you are buying a specific piece of equipment and the manufacturer is offering something like this as an incentive, you'd be a fool not to take advantage of it.

I put my free bullet order in two months ago, and still have not heard anything back. They say it takes up to 16 weeks depending on availability. I have 800 hp coming sooner or later. You order a $40 die set, and get back $25 dollars worth of bullets. That's a win win in my book.

I got 500 .30 cal SP's w my progressive. I turned the paperwork in and surprisingly had the bullets in hand within 3 weeks. Couldn't believe it.

I've been doing it for two years running. I just got a UPS My Choice notice that my bullets should arrive today or tomorrow, I don't remember which. Last year I had a pretty hefty delay on my .45 bullets. This year, I picked all .45 bullets and don't appear to have any delay at all.

I don't think this necessarily means the shortages are over however. Powder is still very difficult to find, and remains the bottleneck. Additionally if you look at this year's promotion compared to the one from the last couple or more, they drastically scaled back what qualifies for the free bullet rebate. That's a warning sign to me that they MIGHT still be having trouble keeping up with production demands still.

That and the fact that everyone's been running out buying their reloading equipment, not as much need to offer the incentive when your product is flying off the shelves.

The incentive is likely going to continue to get smaller and smaller over the next few years because it was introduced to help Hornady get into the market, mostly with their LnL Progressive press. RCBS is doing essentially the same thing. As the number of presses of theirs int he market increases, there is less and less need to incentivize people to purchas their equipment - in theory they will have followers, and their quality and brand will speak for itself.

When I bought my press, it was 1000 free projos. Now it's 500. I bet it either drops to 250 or disappears all together after this year.

I dont shoot Hornaday, but I thought it odd that they were months and months behind on production and were having a promotion. I can not understand the bean counters logic on that one.

I already have a LNL that I got a while ago with free 308's.So last week I was online to order some 308's and another powder drop and powder measure for my LNL.After I added everthing into the cart It hit me-If i just buy another press For another 100 dollars I can get the 500 free 308's another powder measure with all the linkage and another press.Needless to say I have a delivery coming tommorow from mid-south shooters supply. They had em on sale for $398.99 how can you go wrong..Plus they have a rifle bullet feeder coming out this year so I'll just have one for rifle and another for handgun!!!

I should be seeing 900 45's myself today.

And they had the promotion before we had the shortage. You can bet that they had delays filing their promotion as well. Heck, I had a delay on my 45 bullets last year, and there wasn't even a shortage.

My latest rebate I sent off in January and got them about 4-5 weeks later. If you still haven't received them, then something's wrong. I sent in three seperate rebate forms and got .308, .224 and .243 from them. No issues.

I have received my 30 caliber stuff also. It appears to be more of an issue with pistol bullets. My last email from them shows they still cannot fill orders for .357 bullets.

Where did you find the shipping charge?

I have read through the entire promotion. I have about 8 products that qualify and have everything to fill out the paperwork. However, I have no idea what the shipping and handling charges to include are. Where is this information located? Thanks in advance...

Last year, I bought two sets of dies that qualified.

To make sure I wasn't going to be stuck waiting on a backorder forever, I called Hornady before I mailed in the rebate. I talked to sales to see what they had on hand, or at least what was going into production soon, and selected one of those items for my "free" bullets.

At that time, the .44 cal 180 gr XTPs were the best option.
It still took about 3 months for delivery.

Maybe because they have been running the promotion for the last 6 or 7 YEARS, the only thing that changed was the amount of bullets. When I bought my press it was 1000 bullets
