Hornady Critical Defense 22 WMR Not Compatible With PMR30

Finally had a chance to shoot my Kel-Tec PMR30 last weekend. Accurate in my informal shooting situation. Lots of fun. The group of young guys shooting with wondered if I was ever going to run out of "bullets" LOL. It was reliable with both Winchester, and Remington ammo. But Hornady CD was a no-go. Four or five times per magazine full (30 rounds) it would jam with a bullet nose caught on the feed ramp.
The feed ramp probably could be touched up, and polished a bit to resolve the problem. But with the purpose of this gun being just another fun range blaster, I'll just run what it likes.

I have a box of the Hornady ammo that I'll take next time I have a range day and give it a test. So far I've put a bunch of CCI ammo, both 30 and 40 gr., through my PMR with excellent reliability. Only a box or two of Armscor that I used when I first bought the pistol gave me any problems.

The gun is a blast.

I have two PMR 30s. One of them works fine with the Hornady Critical Defense (HCD) ammo and the other one has an occasional flyer with this ammo. Both of my PMR 30s have no feed or ejection issues with this ammo.

My son also has two PMR 30s. Both of his guns work fine with the HCD ammo and it is the ammo that he uses when he conceal carries a PMR 30.

Maybe mine just needs a little breaking in to use the CD. Doesn't really matter because I don't intend to use the PMR30 for any SD situations. I'll just continue to use what it likes.

I've got a PMR-30 and have used a number of different ammos, including the Fiocchi 40 gr. that Kel-Tec said to avoid in a little flyer in the gun case. I also used Hornady Critical Defense - all with NO ISSUES! (I bought the Fiocchi .40 before I bought the gun, in anticipation, and I wasn't going to throw it away.)-

Kel-Tec recommended CCI Maxi-Mag 40 gr., CCI Maxi-Mag JHP+V 30 gr, Federal Game-Shok JHP 50 gr. and Winchester Super-X FMJ 40 gr. I couldn't find any of that anywhere. I waited a long time for the Hornady CD ammo ('net purchased).

K-T recommended NOT using Armscor 40 gr. and Fiocchi 40 gr. on that little yellow sheet.

I have one I haven't even taken to the range yet.....I need to get mine out. Need to see what ammo I have squirrelled away.
