Hornady Brass OK?

Every time I shop for brass cases (7mm-08) Hornady is in stock and a decent price.

I'm wondering what are your opinions on the quality of Hornady brass?

Thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!

The only commercial brass that's a bit odd is Federal. And it's only 'odd' because it's a bit softer than other brands. That only means it doesn't last as long. The Hornady will be dandy.

I have only delt with hornady in 44 mag. In the caliber I do not care for it. It tends to be soft and over sized. Just my take.

My brother ran some and it did not hold up well.

Its usually way overpriced at local stores, twice the cost of Lapua, sells in lots of 50 and not 100.

RP is good and solid, Lapua is great. Winchester iff as is FCl;

PPU seems to be solid like RP

Works well in .358 Winchester, .30-30, .357 Magnum, and .204 Ruger in my shop. Seems to have the same life span as any of the other manuf.'s. I use the .204 Ruger for making up .222 Magnum brass; sizing up to 222 and setting the shoulder back in regular run RCBS dies. I usually anneal before the sizing operation, but on one occasion forgot and had no splits. It's good brass. Rod

I like the .223 Rem brass they make. It has held up to more firings in my bolt action than any of the others have by a very wide margin. Now the .45-70 Gov't requires a readjustment to the crimp, and seat die, as it is shorter than other brass due to the lever evolution bullets being longer, so it will still cycle in a lever action.

I've never seen any issues with it. Run it exclusively in my .308 loaded w 208 AMAX bullets. It's a fairly stiff load. Probly got 8-9 reloads on it with no issues at all

I have several hundred .223 once fired I got recently, I have only used it a few times but it seems to work well. The weight of each casing is more consistent then that of R-P .223 brass.
