Midway has it on sale, one time offer item, appear to be a special run of the discontinued V-Max with a different color tip and call it "Match" bullet. Quality bullet for Grendel shooters. A little too light for Creedmoor I guess! I don't have either, but ordered some anyway! Now I just need to find cheap bass, cheap bolt and cheap barrel! Free shipping before midnight!

Why do they discontinue the 100 gr V-Max?

I would call a 100gr 264 bullet a varmint bullet. I've got two 243's that handle that. I won't even try the 120gr bullet's, I can shoot them with my 25-06.

My local reloading store had some 100gr Amaxs in .264. So I picked up a box to try in my grendel. There were only 3 boxes left on the shelf, I bought one and I thought 'if my gun shoots these decently I will come back for the other two boxes'. Well my gun showed a preference for them but of course the next time I stopped through those two boxes were gone and in there place were some 100gr ELDs. Fair enough, my gun now shows a preference for those! Sitting the bullets on there base, side by side it appears the only difference is the color of the polymer tip.

Ahh you don't get it, new and improved.

Not melting the tips is worth big bucks.

Funny to see the 208 gr in 30 caliber, not sure what could push them past 2800 fps, maybe 300 Weatherly Mag (yea I kind of liked the mis spelling)
