So I this morning I was able to Cony my 75 grain BTHP Hornady load in .223.

Specs:
Rifle: Ruger SR 556 Varmint 20" stainless Bull Barrel 1:8
Scope Leupold VX-R 6-18-40
Distance to target 100 yards
Distance from muzzle to crony, 10 ft

Bullet 75 grain hornady BTHP
Varget: 24.2 & 24.5 grains
Base to ogive 1.8775
COAL avg 2.750
Lake City brass (Trimmed)
CCI 450 primer
24.2 grain velocity: 2792. SD 19 fps
24.5 grain velocity: 2838. SD 29 fps

I found the accuracy nodes to be at 23.9, 24.2, 24.5 and 24.8. However best accuracy was achieved at 24.2 with the worst groups at around 0.75" and the best groups looked like 1, .30 caliber hole in the paper. These tests were done with bullets being weighed and case volume checked.

The 24.2 grain load is sub 1/2 moa easily and in the right hands 1/4 moa. The other charges listed were far less consistent sometimes being below moa, sometimes slightly above. However 24.2 is capable of putting a 5 shot group through 1 jagged hole.

This is above published loads from the hornady manual. However there were absolutely no pressure signs. Until 25 grains or more
