Hopping up a Witness!

Taken with my new 10mm Witness I have the urge to add some hop up parts and tweak it a little. So far I`ve polished the feed ramp and added a Wolff 20# recoil spring. Next I`m looking into MecGar adj. sights then possibly checkered walnut grips from EAA, an EAA hardened slid stop/slide release, EAA stainless trigger (which I`d polish the face on) with overtravel stop, extended safety etc. etc. Has anyone had experience with any of these parts? Tell me about your hopped up/custom Witness! Marcus

I'm buying a full size Witness 10mm in about 3 weeks. I think those faux pearl grips in the EAA catalog with the design on 'em would look cool with the wonder finish.

If it causes me any trouble, I'll also change the spring.

Marcus, how about posting a pic when you get the walnut grips installed. I'm thinking about making or buying a set for my .40 compact.

Did the wood on my 45/38 Super frame; very good (after X-Acto'ing).
Have the real 'curvy' trigger in all three.
Have the MecGar's on one (a 9mm).
Never broke any parts, including slide stop, but I keep an EGW on hand.
All my recoil springs (except the comp'ed 9x21) are Wolff.

Very best custom work is done by EGW.
